What are the age restrictions at RockNess?
Under 18’s must be accompanied by an adult aged 21 or over.   One adult can accompany up to 3 under 18s.  Age restrictions state that children of 12 years and under can enter the festival for free. With that said, we would advise you to bring photocopy proof of the child’s age so that you can prove they are all 12 on the day of the festival to ensure there will be no problems.

Is the event family friendly?
Children aged 12 and under go free and do not need to pre-purchase a ticket. We welcome people of all ages to attend RockNess – hence the free child tickets. Although some activities during the weekend may be less suitable for children, there are always other areas of that festival which are more family friendly.

Where are my tickets?
Please check with the ticket agent you purchased your tickets through – details of this will be on your confirmation email.  Tickets will not be dispatched until March/April at the earliest.  If you have not received your tickets 72 hours before the festival please get in touch with your point of purchase.

Are there any shuttle buses to and from the site?
Yes there will be shuttle buses running between Inverness and the festival.  More information on these will be available closer to the event.

Can I leave the festival and re-enter as I like?
This depends on the ticket type you have.

‘Day ticket’ holders and ‘No camping’ ticket holders are not permitted re-admittance to the festival within the same day, so once you have been in, should you decide to leave you will not be able to re-gain access until the next day.
3 day weekend camping ticket holders may leave and re-enter the festival at any point until 3pm on Saturday afternoon, so if you leave you must be back in plenty of time!  Thereafter if you leave you will be refused entrance back in.

What is the address of the festival?
Clune Farm, Aldourie, Inverness  IV2 6DP (directions are on our website)

Will day tickets be available?

What qualifies as student ID?

Do I need to bring a tent to RockNess 2013?
If you are planning on staying overnight at RockNess, you will need to bring a tent.  Boutique camping is available – please see the RockNess website for information.  We will also be offering the tangerine fields where you can hire a ‘ready made’ tent and sleeping area for the weekend.

Are there showers on site
There are no showers available for general admission ticket holders. There are showers in VIP.

Do you have any restrictions in the campsites?
We have no tent size restrictions at the festival.  You are not allowed to take any glass bottles into the festival. This means you can take in cans of beer, but only a reasonable amount for personal consumption.

What’s the deal with trailer tents, campervans and caravans at RockNess?
If you are bringing a campervan you will need to purchase a campervan ticket (for the vehicle itself) and then a 3 day weekend camping ticket for each individual attending the festival.  Unfortunately we cannot accommodate any caravans or trailer tents.

If I buy boutique camping what else do I need?
In order to camp in the boutique camping field you will need a 3 day camping ticket.  If you want access to the VIP area in the arena you must have a VIP ticket. This means you would purchase a 3 day camping VIP ticket and then book your boutique accommodation separately as normal.

How much alcohol can I take with me?
You can take a reasonable level for personal consumption into the campsite, however it must be taken in with you on your first entry to the festival.  Should you go back to you car or leave the festival site again you are not permitted to bring more alcohol back in with you.

  • Only use BBQs in designated cooking areas within the campsites
  • Never take a barbecue or stove into a tent or motorhome. A warm, smouldering barbecue or stove gives off plenty of poisonous carbon monoxide (CO), which can kill.
  • Never use a fuel-burning appliance to heat your tent or motorhome. Gas and kerosene heaters – unless they are permanently fitted in a caravan or motorhome – should only be used outside. Stoves and barbecues are designed for cooking not space heating.
