Disabled
Disabled access and facilities
RockNess will endeavour to make the 2010 event as accessible as we can for disabled ticket holders and their carers. We have made the disabled camping area as close to all amenities as possible.
Disabled camping is accessed via GATE 4 off the Dores road and you can park next to your tent with your friends.
It must be noted, however, that RockNess is an outdoor event on uneven, green field farm and and as such it will present challenges for those with serious mobility issues and wheelchair users.
Wheelchairs will be able to access most areas without too much trouble but the ground can be very uneven and hilly in places and is predominantly on grass. If it rains it may get muddy and access around the site will be very difficult. In the event of heavy rain we would permit the use of our internal Trackway road for wheelchair users.
In the Arena
All disabled toilets within the arena are located at the first aid points which are clearly marked with banners.
Disabled Camping
The Disabled Camping Area is positioned near to the main entrance through GATE 4 off the Dores road and is in the most logical place for anyone with mobility issues. You will be able to park your car here (if you have a blue badge). It is located directly adjacent to the Nesstival area and offers good access to the main arena but it should be noted that this journey will be downhill on the way there and uphill on the way back. Make sure your carer is with you at all times to assist you with this.
NB: Your friends can camp with you in the disabled camping area.
Please email info@rockness.co.uk to discuss your individual requirements before purchasing a RockNess ticket. You will then be emailed the disabled guest registration form on which you can apply for disabled camping/parking and a carer ticket.
You will need to provide:
- A description of your disability
- A photocopy of the most recent letter of entitlement to Disability Living Allowance from the DWP
- The name of your carer/helper that will be with you
- How many would be in your group
- Date and time of arrival
- Vehicle registration and make
