Boys Noize Interview

We catch up with Boys Noize ahead of his RockNess set NEXT WEEK!!!!

What can we expect from your set at RockNess 2010?

A lot of fresh stuff! I gonna test some new tracks of mine, as well.

What is your guilty pleasure of a track?

I ususally don’t to compromises. I wouldnt play a Tiesto or David Guetta track even it s the bomb and everybody's playing it.

Sometimes when I get totally drunk and it s the end of my set I like to play a pop song to finish, like a Pet shop Boys, Blondie or The Streets song.

How are you going to get the crowd going? Any ideas for your set yet?

I have no idea, I just trust my instincts and feelings for the crowd but I know there are some new tunes that make people go banana.

Who is your favourite artist/DJ at the moment?

Djedjotronic ! He is signed to my label Boysnoize Records and his tracks are the perfect combination of old school house and techno.

He's has got fans from Sven Väth, Jesse Rose to Mr.Oizo. His new EP is the Bomb!! His Dj skills are great too.

Will you be staying to enjoy the whole weekend, and what are the parts of the festival are you looking forward to?

I’m not gonna be able to stay for the whole weekend unfortunately but I m looking forward to play at this beautiful place and to hang out with my friends.

It’s gonna be great !!

What is the best thing about performing at a festival rather than a venue?

The amount of the people. If you do it well as a dj you can create some big moments you can’t have in a small club and I love that find those!

Do you know what was number 1 when you were born?

It was 1982, I hope it was Phil Collins "In The Air Tonight" ?!?

Using the letters below write down the words that describe you best:

Rebel

Oi

Connecting

Kind

No

Energy

Silent

Super :)

What do you think has been the pinnacle of your career so far?

I think there were some stages. My first club gig as a warm up dj when I was 16years old. My first boys noize tune on gigolo reccords in 2004.

Founding my own label BNR in 2005. When Depeche Mode asked me to remix "Personal Jesus" in 2006. My first album "oi oi oi", my second album "Power",

Working with Erol Alkan, working with Gonzales.

What are your plans for 2010?

Making new tracks for myself, making music for and with other people, launching a new digital sub-label BNR TRAX, working on a live show.

If you could time travel, where would you go and why?

I would go back to 1979, because that was the time disco-music was dying and everything got more electronic. Drum machines, synthesiser were building more and more and technology in for music productions got better and better. To me that made music go really exciting in the begin of the 80s.

What song do you think fits your personality best?

uurgh, hard to say. maybe Elvis "Surender" mixed with Kraftwerk "Computer Love pt.2" and Michael Jackson "Dirty Diana"

What is the best thing about RockNess for you?

The Place & the people!
