WOOP WOOP...THE  MOTHER OF ALL COMPETITIONS IS BACK!

ONCE IN A LIFETIME CHANCE TO DJ AT ROCK NESS  2010  

Think you've got the tunes and fancy your chances of playing at this year's RockNess?

RockNess has launched a nationwide search for all budding DJs and is giving one winner the unbelievable opportunity to create their own piece  of DJ'ing history at next month's festival in the esteemed company of electro giants including LEFTFIELD, SOULWAX, APHEX TWIN, CLUB 75, GREEN  VELVET, BOOKASHADE, ANNIE MAC, CHASE & STATUS and BLOODY BEETROOTS.

A judging panel of some of the most respected operators in the business including RockNess festival director Jim King, Soma Records boss Dave Clarke and Sub Club supremo Harri will decide the hotly contested shortlist of entrants. Shortlisted names will get to DJ at a number of excitement-charged heats across Scotland and coveted slots at RockNess parties in super cool style emporium Cruise.

One winner from each regional heat will then be picked before all finalists rock the legendary Bollywood Arena on the Saturday in a Grand Finale showdown. At the end of the showdown one overall winner will be named RockNess DJ of the Year and go on to CLOSE THE ENTIRE FESTIVAL in Bollywood on the Sunday!   

What's more, we'll get the winner's 30 minute mix up on the festival website for RockNess customers to download, provide the opportunity for you to write your own monthly blog for the website about what's generally floating your boat in music...plus have your winning pics splashed all over the place like a proper champion!

We had a monster number of entries last year with FUAD from Aberdeen winning the overall competition and going on to raise the roof in the mighty Clash Arena just before Pete Tong. Runners up WeAreNotRobots and Steve Cass also stormed the festival and all three will be back again this year along with MGCK to set the heather alight!  


Speaking on the launch, Festival  Director JIM KING said “We were blown away by the response and quality of entrants when we launched the RockNess DJ competition last year and this really is another great opportunity for any aspiring DJ to grab hold of as they’ll get the chance to play in front of a large audience and gain some really valuable exposure.

A great twist this year is that all the finalists will be heading to the festival itself for the Grand Finale in the Bollywood Arena on the Saturday with the overall winner announced on the night before going on to close the entire festival on the Sunday night back in the Bollywood Arena. This really is a once in a lifetime chance to set your DJ'ing wheels in motion."

Successful entrants who make the regional heats will be informed direct and their details posted on the website. Successful finalists from each regional heat going on to the Grand Finale at RockNess will receive one additional weekend pass with camping to bring a friend for added woop woop factor!
